Introduction
Welcome
to the Crab Line Association Website (CLAW), home of the British &
International Crab Line Angling Association (BICLAA), the world governing body
for crab line angling – better known as "crabbing" or "crab
fishing".
As
the world governing body the BICLAA sets standards for international crabbing
competitions as well as providing resources and information to participants new
to the sport.
Crabbing
is now one of the most popular participation sports in the UK – behind only
course fishing, football and golf!
We
hope you find this website useful. Please explore it at your leisure. If you
require any further information on crabbing in the UK or worldwide please
contact us using the Contact Us page. Obviously we receive huge volumes of email
from around the world so can’t answer them all immediately but we welcome your
input and do try to answer all emails eventually.
The BICLAA supports grass roots crabbing as well as
competition crabbing, beach fishing, crayfish and lobster hunting, beach
combing, rockpool investigation and general seaside antics, exploration and jolly
japes.
